True Blue is the pseudonym of multi-hyphenate artist Maya Laner, known for her work as a multi instrumentalist, producer, performing artist and song-writer. For the last 10 years she has been a fixture of New York’s underground music scene, and she now records between the US and Copenhagen. True Blue got her start professionally as the bass player of New York Indie pop outfit Porches (2015-2019). This launched her career as a highly sought after instrumentalist, leading her to perform with artist like Alex G on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight show (2022) and eventually landing her a position as Caroline Polachek’s touring bassist and backing vocalist (2023-present). As a songwriter, she has released 2 EP’s and has released her full length debut, Star Witness, on October 17th, 2025. She is also skilled in immersive live stagings and excels at creating music that is both subversive and commercially viable. She has performed opening up for Coco & Clair Clair, UMO, Caroline Polachek, Ethan P Flynn, Alex G- to name a few!
