About The Doves Came Home:
Shye’s sophomore album, The Doves Came Home, unfolds like a slow-burn dream. A journey through memory, distance and the quiet act of coming home to oneself. It lives in the in-between: where love fades in and out, where silence speaks louder than words and where clarity arrives quietly, almost without notice. The Doves Came Home creates a sonic world of fragility and introspection, filled with all the words we wished we had said.
Rooted in 90s dream-pop, with elements of classic shoegaze and alt-rock, the album moves between weightless and overwhelming. Airy vocals drift over shimmering guitars before dissolving into walls of distortion and noise. There is a constant push and pull between intimacy and scale, softness and tension, as each track builds its own emotional atmosphere. Rather than offering a clean resolution, The Doves Came Home lingers in the feeling of a memory you can't fully let go of, suspended in the space between leaving and returning.
It is a reminder that though clarity may arrive, acceptance takes time. Eventually, you begin to trust a direction without needing full certainty. Like a dove in mid-flight, you do not rush the landing but instead let yourself be carried, even if you do not know where it ends. Somehow, that is where the peace is found.
The result is a record that feels both expansive and deeply personal: a reflection on returning, not to a place, but to yourself.
About Shye:
Shye is an independent artist crafting a unique blend of hazy dream-pop and soft rock. A fully self-taught writer, producer and engineer, she builds her own intimate DIY universe.
What began as a quiet bedroom passion project grew into something bigger when she won the Vans Musicians Wanted 2018 competition at just 16. Since then, Shye has released multiple genre-blurring projects that continue to resonate with listeners.
Her journey has taken her from bedroom demos to festival appearances across Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan and the US. Shye has opened for Clairo, Daniel Caesar, Men I Trust, Wisp and The Jesus and Mary Chain. In 2022, Shye won Best New Act From Asia at the BandLab NME Awards, and has since been recognised on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia (2023) list and Dazed 100 Global (2024).
Dedicated to her DIY roots, she continues refining her craft and exploring new possibilities. Driven by honest and emotional connection, Shye makes music for anyone searching for somewhere to land, breathe and feel.
