Latin Grammy-nominated and Brazilian Music Awards-winning artist Rogê has become a pivotal figure in the resurgence of Música Popular Brasileira (MPB). With a rich career spanning over two decades, Rogê has released seven solo albums that have solidified his place in the contemporary Brazilian music scene. His work is characterized by a unique blend of traditional Brazilian rhythms with modern influences, making his sound both timeless and fresh.

Rogê's collaborations have been particularly notable, including the acclaimed Na Veia (2016) with samba legend Arlindo Cruz. This album, which earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Samba/Pagode Album, showcases the deep-rooted connection both artists have with samba. Another significant collaboration is Seu Jorge & Rogê (2020) with Seu Jorge, which brought together two of Brazil’s most iconic voices in a project that resonated with audiences both in Brazil and internationally.

Originally hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Rogê is now based in Los Angeles, California. His move to the U.S. has allowed him to introduce the vibrant sounds of Brazil to new audiences, expanding his influence beyond his home country. In March 2023, he released his U.S. debut album Curyman under Diamond West Records. Produced by Thomas Brenneck of The Budos Band—who has worked with artists like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Amy Winehouse—the album is a celebration of samba infused with messages of resilience and redemption. Curyman not only marked the launch of Brenneck's new label but also reflected Rogê's deep belief in the power of music to inspire hope and perseverance.

As Rogê looks to the future, he is gearing up to release Curyman II in November 2024. Building on the success of his U.S. debut, this upcoming album promises to deliver even more vibrant samba rhythms and thought-provoking lyrics. Exciting new singles are set to drop in the lead-up to the album’s release, offering fans a preview of what’s to come. As Rogê continues to evolve his sound and push the boundaries of Brazilian music, he remains dedicated to spreading the rich cultural heritage of Brazil to audiences around the world.

CURYMAN II

Curyman II is an evolution of the first Curyman because, over time, we have come to understand and know each other more deeply. This applies to Tommy, to me, to Simon, and even to the musicians, who are almost the same as on the first album. I believe this makes a significant difference, especially considering that we have Verocai and compositions that continue to reflect my life in Los Angeles, as well as representing a colorful palette of Brazilian Popular Music.”
- Rogê

Curyman II also marks a significant comeback with legendary arranger Arthur Verocai, following their successful collaboration on Curyman. Together again, they've built on their previous work, blending Verocai's intricate, layered arrangements with Rogê's soulful melodies. This album continues their shared mission of honoring Brazilian music's rich heritage while exploring new creative frontiers.
