Porcelain is a post-hardcore band hailing from Austin, Texas. Drawing heavily from an eclectic mix of ‘80s and ‘90s guitar influences, their music is an exercise in tension and dynamics, creating a soundscape of angular riffs that range from delicate melodies to crushing walls of distortion. The quartet is comprised of: Steve Pike (vocals/guitar), Ryan Fitzgibbon (vocals/guitar), Jordan Emmert (bass), and Eli Deit (drums).
The band emerged from Austin's vibrant DIY scene, with members having crossed paths over the years through various previous projects. Their formation was catalyzed by Pike's desire to start a new band after his previous group's dissolution, Fitzgibbon's return from the UK in 2021, and a shared ambition among the members to explore fresh musical directions. Porcelain debuted live in May 2022 and released their first single, "C.O.A.," in 2023, followed by "World I Know" in January 2024, and “Plastic” in February 2024. Their self-titled debut album, released on February 16, 2024, via Portrayal of Guilt Records, showcases a blend of late ’90s noise rock and jarring post-hardcore, with tracks flowing seamlessly into one another.
Over the ensuing year, the band toured extensively in support of their debut album, including a run of dates opening for Chat Pile and Agriculture, and sharing stages with Unwound, The Blood Brothers, Les Savy Fav, Portrayal of Guilt, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Machine Girl, Trauma Ray, Shallowater, Young Widows, Cherubs, Lightning Bolt, Big Business, Boris, Pygmy Lush, A Place to Bury Strangers, Clown Core, Lip Critic, and YHWH Nailgun among others.
Porcelain remain focused on refining their cathartic live show and visceral sound through a steady diet of touring. Following a spring 2025 tour with noise rock forebears Young Widows and Cherubs, they released a 7” via TODO Records, followed by a July tour supporting Chicago post-rockers Pelican, playing select dates with coalesce. To close out 2025, Porcelain opened for the influential post-hardcore pioneers Unwound for the band’s lone Texas tour date as part of their "30 Years of The Future of What" tour and played Levitation’s Halloween Freakend Festival. The first half of 2026 saw the band sharing the stage with the likes of Orchid, Uniform, and Touche Amore, and recently, the band completed their sophomore album.
