Ever since her emergence proper last year, LA based enigma
Ms* Gloom has been in constant transition; gradually unfurling layers and emerging from beyond a veil of glacial textures and swathes of reverb. Shedding preconceptions and a previous alias in the process, the artist formerly known as
Joon Gloom has carved out a lush, imaginative lane within the world of left-field electro-pop; one that speaks to the postmodern tastes of not only her rapidly expanding following, but her own influences. After viral singles such as ‘Something To Hold Onto’ and the gorgeous layered pop of ‘Joker’ and ‘Got It In Tha Mix’, today Ms* Gloom announces her debut project,
J Is For Joon, which is due for release on February 27th 2026. Alongside the announcement, she unveils a dynamic, unique visual for new single ‘Dumb 4 All’.
The most dancefloor-ready iteration of Ms* Gloom’s multifaceted sound so far, ‘Dumb 4 All’ injects a defiant sense of confidence throughout its 2 mins 23 secs runtime. As indebted to the pulse and throb of a club soundsystem as it is the glistening soundscapes that Ms* Gloom has made her signature, the track finds Gloom exploring a multitude of varying deliveries; softly commanding the attention of the listener over a 4/4 beat before leading them into a glacial, spacious chorus that shows the full range of her vocal range. ‘Dumb 4 All’ is just another confounding example of just how diverse Ms* Gloom’s sonic palette can be, despite the evocative, highly curated world that characterises all of her output to date.
The track’s visual goes even further to present more of Ms* Gloom than ever before. Exhibited within the hazy, glitch-laden world of Ms* Gloom, ‘Dumb 4 All’ finds the artist sailing the seas on the famously haunted Queen Mary ship , performing the track alongside choreography with the ship’s crew. It’s the widest projection of Ms* Gloom in traditional “popstar” form yet, delivering on the track’s propulsive energy with a new level of self-assuredness.
With the release of her debut mixtape,
J Is For Joon, on February 27th 2026, Ms* Gloom will finally emerge from her chrysalis with an engrossing, beguiling opening statement that chronicles a vivid period of personal and artistic growth. A defiant exercise in world-building produced solely by Ms* Gloom and
Silent$ky (
Bladee &
Yung Lean),
J Is For Joon explores identity and autonomy through a metaphorical lens, with Ms* Gloom battling an omnipresent voice named Mr. Gloom that aims to control her across the project’s 16 tracks. Reflecting a real life battle to express her true self that existed until the project’s inception,
J Is For Joon delves into every facet of Ms* Gloom’s musical expression; traversing pop, electronica, forward-thinking club sounds, ambience and so much more to result in the real-world blossoming of the person that Ms* Gloom has always wanted to be.
