Produced by Eric Gabriel (Melt) and featuring players such as drummer Jason Burger (Andrew Bird), bassist Joshua Crumbly (Leon Bridges) and guitarist Adam Brisbin (Big Thief), Lorem Ipsum seamlessly weaves personal heartbreak and triumph with the disorienting feeling of living in the digital age. Lush string arrangements from Oliver Hill (Dirty Projectors) and haunting backing vocals from Nina Moffitt (Son Lux) add a dreamy layer to Jakobs’ unique storytelling.
Lorem Ipsum is a distinct departure from Jakobs’ 70’s-folk-tinged debut EP, The Milk Barn Sessions, which Pitch Perfect described as “rustic poetry,” filled with “slyly humorous lyricism, clever metaphor and brilliant turns-of-phrase.”
Jakobs performs around New York City at venues such as the Jalopy Theatre, The Francis Kite Club and Theatre 80. He also tours across New England. His background in theater and comedy shines through in his live performances.
