Exiter is a Seattle-based project exploring the liminal space between alternative rock, electronic, and slowcore. Music that begins in one place and ends somewhere unexpected. Formed in 2024 by former members of the dream pop band
Shimmertraps, Exiter brings a more distilled, restless energy: dynamic guitar-driven arrangements that dissolve into glitched out ambience or drift into slow-burning introspection.
Their sound has been described as a cassette mixtape left out in the sun, familiar songs slowly melting and stitching into one another in a guitar laced haze. There's movement in every track, but never in a straight line.
Mixed by
Dylan Seawright (
Great Grandpa, Apples With Moya) and mastered by
Dylan Wall (
Feeble Little Horse, Hotline TNT, Versing),
Temporary Empty showcases Exiter’s ability to shapeshift across genres without losing their identity. The record moves fluidly from the grunge-fueled intensity of the title track
Temporary Empty, to the blistering, hardcore-tinged “How/Copy,” and finally to “Dolphins Make A Heart,” a dreamy, acoustic guitar-driven piece laced with fantasy synths and downtempo textures.
